Wow, he’s not a baby anymore - he has a “take home” book for reading practise!
Do you have to write comments about his reading in a little book to show his teacher every week?
I think my Mum’s probably still kept some of my Parent-Teacher comment books…

Oh cool. I loved going to the library when I was at school and taking books home.
But where is the graffiti on the fence and the litter on the floor? I don’t see any.

Yes, there’s a little comment book attached, and the Take Home Card you can see is awesome - full of really useful notes and ideas for parents. For now, it’s about nurturing a love of stories and books, so it’s mainly about the pictures and story-telling. His main word for this book was ‘the’. lol
Teesee: Haha. Yeah, I know - M and I had that very same discussion! No surly, spitting yoofs at the bus stop either!

First off I’m glad your back and in good spirits =) Reading milestones are the best, my little one is bringing home big boy books and I’m getting tears in my eyes.

Aww how amazing. I remember when I found out my niece was bringing home her first book so I can’t imagine what it’s like having your son do that. Yay!

I vote that you go out and buy The Very Hungry Caterpillar. That was my bestest most favouritest book as a kid :D
