The Bit With the Pang

One of my best friends is moving to France to live. I’m going to miss her so, so much. What the hell am I going to do without her? She was my rock. She made me feel grounded. And appreciated. And normal.
Don’t tell anyone about my intense vulnerability – this is our secret, obviously – but I’m actually crying. That can’t be good.

What part of France? It’s not too far… you can get a train there! Just think of it as a journey on the tube to work… just under the sea and to another country…
*hugs*

*Hugs* Life moves all of use in strange, and sometimes sad, ways. Something always come along, and thanks to the internet you can still have inexpensive contact in some way…

I’m sorry love. But hey, it’s France, not South America, you can still see her lots. *hug*

Teesee: Um – West? Southwest? Somewhere in that region. :p
Anyway, I was pretty pissed (drunk – not angry) when I typed this. How embarrassing . . .
Thanks all. :)

Aww, I remember you telling me they were moving (bloody hell, it’s come ’round fast hasn’t it?).
Like Teesee said though, at least you can get a train – it’s not like it’s Australia or something scary… You can even turn it to your advantage and use it as an excuse to have another holiday ;)

Aww *hugs* And I agree on the excuse-for-a-holiday front. ;) At least France isn’t a zillion miles away!

I hate when bf’s move. Mine did two years ago, she was so damn cool and made me feel normal too. Traveling to France can be good.

Wow, wish I had some worldly wise words to give, but my mind is failing!
But then again, perhaps that has something to do with the fact that I’ve never had someone move away from me. I’m always the one to move!
So from what I have got experience from, I’m sure your friend will be hurting as much, or even more so, than you might be. It’s always difficult to leave the ones you love! Even when you are moving due to your own personal choice and decision, it still hurts!
Just try to keep in contact as best you can, and like everyone else has said already, traveling between England and France really isn’t très difficile. ;-)
Who knows, this might even bring you closer! (Due to having to put more conscious effort into staying in touch).

Most people who move away from the UK, move back again – always something to bear in mind.

It’s really not that far and I’m sure she’ll always be on the other end of the phone for you when you need her. If not then there’s always IM and email :)
Besides, think of the great holidays you can have out there when you go to visit her!

Don’t be too depressed. You can always have video conferences with your friend. You can even visit her during your breaks.
