The Day Amsterdam Rocked
As aforementioned, Amsterdam rocked.
I'm not entirely sure what I expected it to be like; lots of trees and water and people on bikes? Heh, I wasn't far off for that's pretty accurate, really. I tell you, there are NO FAT PEOPLE in the Netherlands - they're too fit to possibly be so. Copious cigarettes and pot aside, they have to be one of the fittest nations on earth . . . and I mean that by both definitions, too. The men? Wow. There were some pretty sexy guys around. Thankfully that fact was balanced for M by the hundreds of women cycling along cobbled streets with no bra.

Wow, it’s so beautiful.
I really need a holiday…

We did too! Although two nights isn’t nearly enough - only got to see a fraction of what we’d hoped to!

Good excuse to go back there again then ;)

Indeed - not least because we didn’t do anything remotely seedy this time. *pout*

This time?
You’ve done it before then? Tell me :D
And I agree, two days is not nearly enough time. Next time, “miss the plane”.

Next time you go, can you take me with you? (I’m only little, promise!)

I love Amsterdam, it’s a gorgeous city. There are so many things to see and do that makes it worthwhile to go.
The Anne Frank house was indeed impressive, when I went behind that book case I couldn’t help but feel very humble and I had goosebumps all over.

@Teesee: Ah, that ‘this time’ is for the future rather than the past!
@Tanya: Thank you! And me, too. Didn’t get to see nearly enough of the place, but we loved it there.
@Claire: Deal. :)
@Inga: Have you been? :) I totally agree!
@Chans: I had exactly the same response. I can’t believe it’s still intact, with all the original files. I also had chills going up that steep stairway; as you say, it was incredibly humbling. I only cried once though (which is good for me) and that was at the end in the second attic and the story of the holocaust it retold. Hideous - but *so* important that we remember.
And the Dutch people? Some of the nicest I’ve ever known in the entire world! So helpful and friendly!

I suspect you’re being followed by a fellow on a bike - it sure looks like the same one in two of the photos! ;)
Looks like the weather was kind to you, too.
I hear it’s a wonderful place (my Step Dad is from there). I never got the chance to go while I was over those parts :(

You know, I thought the same thing! ;)
(Every bike looks very much like the other in Amsterdam!)
