The Day With the Meme (3)
You know me: I don’t do memes. But as this is quite a nice way to tie up the year - not to mention some time - I thought I’d indulge in this one. Tis the season, after all.
Where did you begin 2007?: In Brighton, with our very best friends. It will also be where we’ll be at the end of 2007, too.
What was your status by Valentine’s Day?: Married. Like every other day.
Were you in school (anytime this year)?: Um, ish - if Japanese can be counted as that!
How did you earn your money?: By being a government butt monkey.
Did you have to go to the hospital?: Yup.
Did you have any encounters with the police?: Yes, but not until the end of the year, when I filed a complaint against someone.
Where did you go on holiday?: New York, Majorca and a long weekend in London. That’s not too shabby, is it?
What did you purchase that was over £500?: Just my insanely shit iMac.
Did you know anybody who got married?: Actually, no - this is the first year in awhile we haven’t been to a wedding. That said, most people our age are now getting divorced. Heh.
Did you know anybody who passed away?: No. Thankfully.
Have you run into anybody you left high school with?: Only on Facebook, which is just dandy-o by me. Let’s keep it that way.
Did you move anywhere?: No. Happy where I am, thanks.
What sporting events did you go to?: None.
What concerts/shows did you go to?: Get ready for my horrifically middle-aged tastes: Crowded House, Squeeze, Stereophonics, Lion King and the fabulous CBeebies show last week. :P
Are you registered to vote?: Of course.
Who did you want to win Big Brother?: Brian. And he did - woohoo!
Where do you live now?: Same place I have for the last six years.
Describe your birthday?: Lowkey, I think? I didn’t even blog about it. :P
What’s the one thing you thought you would never do but did in 2007?: Have a c-section without having a goddamn baby at the end of it. Break through my insane block on my novel.
What has been your favorite moment?: S writing his name for the first time and our holidays.
What’s something you learned about yourself?: I’m stronger than I think I am.
Any new additions to your family?: Ha. As if.
What was your best month?: All much the same, I think, though I’ve enjoyed November/December.
What music will you remember 2007 by?: I’ve listened to Maroon 5 and Snow Patrol quite a bit.
Who has been your best drinking buddy?: I have too many to choose from!
Made new friends?: Yes. :)
Best new friend?: Oooh. E, maybe? And Claire is pretty fucking awesome, too.
Favorite Night out?: Clubbing with K & M. And my favourite night in was with D and getting shitfaced on two bottles of wine on a school night.
Any regrets?: Buying a fucking iMac.
You?

The Day I Never Do These Usually (5)
To paraphrase Claire I hardly ever, ever do memes, but I’m bored as fuck because I hate football, and I can’t go upstairs to sleep as we’re clearing out the spare room . . . meaning the contents of which are strewn across the entire upstairs floor. Actually Claire didn’t say anything of those things specifically, but you know what I mean. I hope.
And yes, I am obviously avoiding talking about yesterday, for everytime I even think about it I burst into tears. This was not helped with the arrival of a bunch of flowers this morning from S, my Best Work Friend wishing me luck in my new job. What a mean, selfish BITCH she was to do that. GOD.
On the plus side though, I drank my weight in gin on Thursday night and didn’t throw up. Go me.

The Day I Did a Meme (7)
I can’t recall the last time I did a meme here but this mission - set by Sharon - was too good an opportunity to pass. I invite you all to do to join me in listing your Top Ten of fictional people/characters you want to have sex with. Here’s mine, in no particularly order:
- Solid Snake - Metal Gear Solid (Video game)
- Seth - Dust Till Dawn (Movie)
- Doug Ross - ER (TV)
- Angel - Angel (TV)
- Alan Pangborne - The Dark Half (Book) (Sadly, he lives purely in my imagination)
- Wesley - Angel (not pussy-boy Wesley) (TV)
- Nate Fisher - Six Feet Under (TV)
- Apollo - Battlestar Galactica (TV)
- Angelus - Angel (Well . . . you know - Angel with sharp teeth and a bumpy forehead) (TV)
- Rob Gordon - High Fidelity (Book - and I mean the character, not John Cusack)
Wow. That was fun. But then, when is listing fantasy sex with fictional people ever not enjoyable? There’s no better way to get over the blues than devote a half hour of your life creating a list like this. Next up: Top Ten Shaggable Celebrities. Hmmm. I’ll need time for this one . . .
V xx
