The Bit About the 2.3 Upgrade (1)
I’ve just upgraded to 2.3 (Christ, the Instant Upgrade plugin is FANTASTIC).
Everything appears to have gone smoothly but, as always, please let me know if you see anything amiss around here. Do your best to break the place and poke around in those dark, dirty corners that I try to cover up with chintzy sheer material and keep hidden away and please let me know if that lag returns.
Am currently home awaiting delivery of my TV (the dispatch notice came about an hour after I posted yesterday’s entry. Yay!). I’m praying that it comes before 12.30pm, as I have a meeting this afternoon that I have to go to. It’ll be just our luck that it arrives ten minutes after I leave!
ETA: Archives have gone wonky. Will have to fix, although as already using the latest plugin version, will have to await the 2.3 compatible version. All fixed.
Oh, and according to Parcelforce, they track my TV’s estimated arrival as the 3rd October. What the fuck? Am SO annoyed. ETA: It arrived just before half six! HAZZAH! I CAN PLAY GUITAR HERO AGAIN!

The Bit About the Plugin Upgrades (4)
I’ve been doing a little housekeeping in anticipation of WP 2.3 and am currently going through my huuuuuuuuuuuuuuugw plugins list and updating as and where I can. Please let me know if you encounter any weird errors, messages or timeouts. After the last time, I don’t ‘alf get ansty when I try to upgrade around here.
Oh, remember that horrible lag I used to have? I don’t think I ever explained the cause, but I think it was down to WP’s Bad Behaviour plugin. On activating it, it slowed the site right down and it was only by chance that I caught it. I’ve upgraded to the latest stable release, but if it ends up blocking a host of legitimate visitors and/or slows FA.com down to a mind-numbing halt again, I’ll get shot of it. In the meantime, please let me know if you encounter any difficulties with it.

The Bit About Updating (5)
Those of you who use WordPress and have substanial content will know that whilst it’s undoubtedly one of the most amazing and flexible open source programs out there, the bigger your site, the more plugins you use and the more horrendous updating and keeping everything secure really is.
Introducing the Best. Plugin. Ever. Worked like a charm right out of the box.

The Bit With The Upgrade to 2.2.1 (16)
I’ve upgraded to 2.2.1 in the desperate hope that it’ll sort out some of the lag - both at my end and yours - but I’m not particularly hopeful. Long live the pessimist.
As always, please let me know if you come across anything screwy.
ETA: Lag is still fucking crap. Sigh. Oooh, I may be getting overly excited over nothing, but has that annoying hang/delay when posting comments etc. improved a little? Anyone else noticed an improvement? (Other than Sharon, who is apparently an evil, bad spammer and blacklisted (I’ve deactivated Bad Behaviour now, my lovely, so hopefully you can comment again!)).

The Update About the Navigation Comments Off
Just a quickie; the broken (but lovely - sob) page navigation on the Caffeinated theme has been removed and replaced. The WP standard linkage replacing it isn’t as pretty, nor as useful, but it works. So bite me.
And while I was here, tinkering away, I also added a better and cleaner Archive section. Good Christ I’ve written some bollocks in my time.
This is my fourth blog entry today. Weird.
