'Ello.

Nice day. :) Managed an astronomical eleven hrs sleep without needing the loo last night, so felt FANTASTIC when I woke up. :D After going online for a little bit (never seem to catch anyone these days :() and getting a serial code for my DVD RegionFree proggy (yey!) from Steppy, we then sent off for Bristol to take a look at the cots/nursery furniture at Ikea. Not much there, but I fell in love with the changing table there and the wardrobe (both for £230, which isn't too bad). No joy with cots though - so popped over to Mothercare, where I spent loads. :p After getting a demo on the travel systems/buggies (we honestly don't have a clue about what we're doing :p) we checked out the cots and saw a couple we like. We'll have to go back when we have some money sorted.

Came home with baby bath and accessories, a NewBorn Pack full off lotions and nappies etc. lol, and a stunning Winnie the Pooh activity rug/gym which is just gorgeous. Slightly annoyed with myself cos I know we don't have the money, but I guess these things have to be bought eventually. :p And to top it off, M and I stopped for Sunday lunch, which was just lovely. :D I wish we went out together more.

Since then, I've done Richie's CVS for him (bet he doesn't use em :p) and then FINALLY copied Phil's Nirvana and Royksopp CDs, which he'll be pleased about, since I've had em for months and months. The Royksopp one is fantastic. :D *puts in car ready for the morning*

Tooth (or, more accurately, the hole where my tooth used to be) isn't feeling too bad. Occasional twinges when I yawn or sneeze, but it's okay, thankfully.

Right. Simpsons now. I should probably get ready for classes tomorrow, too.

p.s. I was convinced I'd fucked up my comments page after fiddling about with my overrides yesterday, but turns out it wasn't me but something with uJ. Thank God! lol :D

Pregnancy Week 22 Comments Off

Pregnancy Week 22

How your baby's growing:
Your baby weighs about 340g/12 oz and could be 19cm/7 1/2 in long from crown to rump. The eyebrows and eyelids are fully developed and the fingernails now cover the fingertips. Watch what you say from now on because your baby will probably hear you. You can communicate by talking, reading, singing or why not try reading aloud? Some studies suggest a newborn will suck more vigorously when you feed if you read from a book frequently heard in utero. Choose a children's classic or one of your own books — whatever you prefer.

How your life's changing:
It's hard to be graceful when you're pregnant so don't be surprised if you find yourself getting more clumsy these days. You're carrying more weight, your centre of gravity has changed with your growing uterus, and your fingers, toes, and other joints are all loosening, thanks to the effect of pregnancy hormones. Try to watch where you're going, and if you haven't already done so, say goodbye to your really high heels. They make keeping your balance more difficult, and can cause backaches.

Funny how even if I'm bored shitless, actually sitting down and updating this thing is kinda tedious, even though I've been up since 6.45am. :p I was knackered last night and fell asleep about half ten, so woke early - it's a beautiful cold, sunny day, so the light woke me even though I didn't want to be. :) This morning I was feeling kinda restless, but I'm okay now.

Spent four hours today with Marky, playing Zelda. Was having a complete mare with the Fire Dancer in the Fire Temple before I realised that standing on the platform was guaranteed to keep me from harm. I was soooooooo mad! had to quit when the football kicked off though, obviously. Not bad, though - I came up here, sat at my PC and updated myself with everything - journals, forums, sites, everything. :)

Have to ring my mother about Sammy. He needed an operation yesterday as he split one of the nails on his paws and without proper care, he could literally have bled to death. :( He came home yesterday afternoon, wearing one of those lampshade collars that make doggies look so adorably pathetic. Bless.

Sorry - this entry is kinda disjointed. :p Just trying to remember what happened this week . . .

Oh! Had my wisdom tooth removed yesterday! I had an emergency appointment at the dentist's cos it had really been giving me some grief. When I got there he couldn't see anything - until he looked right right back. Turns out the tooth was tearing the muscle at the back of my jaw (no wonder it was bloody hurting me :p) so he wanted to remove it there and then. I couldn't believe it! In fairness, he pulled it out fantastically well - although uncomfortable, it was nothing like the last time when he almost had to climb into my mouth to do it! Only problem is, I can't take anything stronger than paracetamol to help with the pain. :(

Right. Think I'm gonna change my background now. BTW V, if you're reading - love your new one. :D
